Mentorship
GenHERation
Their questions loosened my own limits.

For the past few summers, I've mentored high schoolers through GenHERation®, a network founded by sisters Katlyn and Samantha Grasso, connecting students with leaders at companies across the country. I've gotten paired with a few high schoolers, and through one on one chats or small groups, we talk through career exploration, my experience in entrepreneurship, and their fears and worries about what's next.
I learn something empowering every year by mentoring through the GenHERation Connection program. One mentee, based in LA, wanted to be a director. I mean, how cool. It got me thinking about how I never really considered film or directing as something realistic or attainable, but to her it felt totally accessible. It reminded me that my own limitations, self-imposed or circumstantial, can be released.
